RETIREMENT HOME TOUR

Let's meet at
the 1000 Islands Mall near Sessions Cannabis & Gabriels Pizza
(2441 Parkedale, in Brockville - the outbuilding in front of the mall)

around 1:30 PM on

Saturday, September 12, 2026.

We should be setting out on the tour at 1:50 PM.
We aim to be at Maple View Lodge / G. Tackaberry and Family Home by 2:30 PM.

Where are we going ?

This year's tour will be like last year,
but with a change of route right after Maple View at Athens
to avoid construction and traffic lights on County Road 5:

Bridlewood Manor, Maple View Lodge / G.Tackaberry and Family Home,
Royal Brock, St. Lawrence Lodge, Rosedale, Wedgewood,
including a spin down County Road 3 and the 1000 Islands Parkway
- just for fun-
and finishing at Blockhouse Island.

If you want to meet up with friends to go for dinner after,
perpendicular parking, east of the Rowing Club, might be available
if the lot at Blockhouse Island is full.


The Retirement Home Residents

Maple View TackaberryHome Turn left to go around the original Maple View Lodge building (yellow dots),
follow the road to G. Tackaberry and Family Home,
go down the right side of the parking lot in front of the G. Tackaberry and Family Home and past the front door,
exit via the left side of this parking lot and return the way you just came on the driveway around Maple View Lodge (orange dots).

Royal Brock Royal Brock We will approach from Perth, through Royal Brock's parking lot. (That way we can get our cars off the street.)

Their parking lot entrance is within the turning lane for going right on Central. It is just a few feet before the corner.
If you miss their parking lot entrance off Perth,
just make a right on Central,
right on Stewart,
and an immediate right into their front entrance where you can just fall into line.

St Lawrence Lodge St Lawrence Lodge Everyone do the loop past the front door and turn right, at the end, to go along the wall (yellow dots).
We will head down towards the water.
You can PARK in the lot on the left, if you prefer not to drive on grass. (It's flat.)
Just follow the leader. We will do a big loop on the grass, stopping for a bit so everyone on their balconies can get a good look. We will then exit by the shed.
Anyone who PARKED in the lot, should just fall into line as we leave.

It would be nice if you could keep to the shoulder so we can keep King St. open
- but BE CAREFUL -
there is a bit of a curb where the shoulder meets the entrance to Rosedale.

Wedgewood Wedgewood Earlier enroute, we will be passing by, going east on King St.

At the end of the tour we will approach from the east on Water St. E. and drive slowly along the grass field (aqua dots) in front of Wedgewood (between Dive Brockville and the Railway Tunnel Overpass). We will leave by continuing on Water St., over the tunnel and into Blockhouse Island.

Loop around Blockhouse Island to end the tour.
You may then want to leave or stop and chat,
or meet your friends in the perpendicular parking south of Water St. E., just east of the Railway Tunnel Overpass, after the Rowing Club.
